My first day in the mission field May 16th.
California is Beautious. My first companion is Sister Faust, she is Samoan, eats copius amounts of beef jerky and pops popcorn for breakfast. She has a sweet demenour and a big heart. I know I will learn great things from her.
My first area is Los Serranos or Chino Hills. There are 150 Missionaries within my whole mission, only 15 of them are Sisters. The mission area is 25 by 40 miles and 3 MILLION people live within that small area.
Last night Sister Faust and I went to visit a less active family. They were one rowdy bunch. They had a boat parked in their front lawn, a bath tub parked in the back, chickens, ducks, a turkey, 3 dogs, a bunny and a rat! I felt like i was in the zoo.
For Dinner the family made green soup and green koolaid. As i sat down I said "Are you celebrating St Patricks Day? "
They all looked at me like I was the biggest dumb cracker in the room.
"NO YOUR A GREENIE!!"
Which means that I new in the mission. I was completely suprised. They had dyed everything green to celebrate my first day in the mission.
